Role & Responsibilities Reporting to the Senior Director Owned Media of Mobile Marketing, the Director of Social Media and Culture will shape and define Samsung’s brand in the USA, driving revenue growth across mobile product categories.
Manage Samsung's social media, influencer/creator programs, and community engagement initiatives.
Drive organic social presence across all platforms.
Oversee the Creator/Influencer program, including “celeb” and micro/macro creators (#TeamGalaxy).
Lead the Nano community creator program to amplify social conversation.
Engage the Members program to celebrate loyal fans.
Build cultural relevance, create social conversation, and showcase Samsung innovation through storytelling.
Partner with Korea teams for global‑local strategy alignment.
Collaborate with Carrier and Retail stakeholders to maximize value and amplification.
Coordinate with cross‑functional teams for strategy optimization and content refinement.
Negotiate commercial terms and contracts with Legal, Finance, Compliance and Procurement.
Track, analyze and report on marketing KPIs, taking corrective action when needed.
Integrate initiatives with retail and CRM communications to support Carrier/Retailer goals.
Position Objective Develop a comprehensive social media and influencer strategy to meet earned media targets per brand.
Lead all social media campaigns for organic accounts and collaborate with paid media teams.
Define short‑term and long‑term playbooks with the Agency of Record.
Own the full influencer mix from nano to macro to celebrities, adapting to ecosystem changes.
Provide brand storytelling leadership across all platforms, advising on narrative trends.
Own the KPI scorecard focused on brand and commercial contribution.
Assume responsibility for the global social media calendar and creative asset management.
Negotiate and execute commercial agreements within budget and compliance.
Skills and Qualifications BA/BS degree in marketing, communications or business management.
12+ years of progressive marketing experience, with 10+ years in GTM execution across Social/Influencers/Talent.
Iterative thinker who challenges the status quo.
Consummate collaborator with excellent communication skills.
Experience negotiating complex deals and programs with large international companies.
Familiarity with technology platforms and internet brands.
Existing relationships with leading media and internet brands.
Strategic thinker capable of developing actionable recommendations.
Ability to make timely decisions with limited information.
Comfortable presenting at the Executive level.
Strong project/program management experience.
