Job Summary SHI is seeking a Content Strategist & Writer – Spend Optimization Services to support the Spend Optimization Services solution pillar as part of the Editorial and Research team. This role develops clear, compelling content that drives thought leadership, strengthens brand positioning, and supports campaign and product storytelling.
Role Description Develop content strategies aligned to Spend Optimization Services business goals, go‑to‑market motions, industry trends, and audience needs, translating complex technical and financial concepts into clear, compelling narratives.
Own full‑funnel written content across formats (blogs, eBooks, whitepapers, webinars, email campaigns, landing pages), ensuring clear objectives, defined target personas, and messaging aligned to awareness, consideration, and decision stages.
Collaborate on non‑written content formats such as video, podcasts, infographics, and social media assets to ensure cohesive storytelling across channels.
Create product‑adjacent and partner‑facing content, including solution briefs, one‑pagers, and FAQs, while partnering with creative teams on web copy.
Develop innovative approaches to building awareness and demand in a data‑driven, cost‑optimization‑focused landscape, including buyer‑led topic clusters and modular, reusable content strategies.
Utilize AI tools effectively to support research and drafting, while applying strong editorial judgment to ensure accuracy, quality, and alignment with brand voice and guidelines.
Support content publishing in SHI’s Resource Hub using WordPress, ensuring proper tagging, organization, and discoverability.
Monitor industry trends related to IT spend optimization, licensing, cost management, and financial governance, and connect insights to SHI’s services and solutions in a differentiated and relevant way.
Partner with editorial leadership and external agencies to develop primary and secondary research that supports industry‑leading thought leadership.
Integrate cross‑solution messaging and align content to broader company narratives where appropriate.
Continuously improve existing content through refreshes, repackaging, and optimization.
Apply SEO and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) best practices to improve content discoverability, search rankings, and performance across web and campaign assets.
Success Metrics Content is clear, credible, and grounded in real buyer needs.
Content drives measurable business impact, including engagement, conversion, lead quality, and sales enablement.
Content planning aligns to buyer journeys and structured topic clusters.
Content reflects industry insights and performs across traditional search and AI‑driven discovery platforms.

Intermediate ability to create clear and effective technical documentation.
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or related field, or equivalent work experience.
7+ years of content marketing, editorial, or B2B/technical writing experience.
Proven experience writing across multiple formats (digital, long‑form, executive‑level).
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
Experience working with cross‑functional teams (marketing, creative, subject matter experts).
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Asana, WordPress, SEMrush.
Ability to travel to SHI, partner, and customer events as needed.
Preferred: experience in spend optimization, IT financial management, licensing, procurement, or cost optimization services.
Familiarity with product marketing concepts such as positioning, personas, value propositions.
Experience creating sales enablement or go‑to‑market aligned content.
