Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced contract Web Designer to support a client engagement involving the design and rollout of a modern, professional website presence. The engagement will begin with the creation of a polished landing page based on established branding and style guides, followed by the design and expansion into a complete website experience.
The ideal candidate combines strong visual design capabilities with practical knowledge of responsive web design, user experience, and modern web standards. This role is highly collaborative and will work closely with project leadership, stakeholders, developers, and content contributors.
This is a contract/consulting assignment with potential for additional phases based on project success.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Phase 1 – Landing Page
Design and produce a responsive, high-quality landing page aligned to existing brand standards and style guides
Translate business and marketing objectives into intuitive user experiences
Create wireframes, mockups, and production-ready designs
Ensure mobile-first responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility
Optimize layouts for engagement, usability, and conversion
Phase 2 – Full Website Expansion
Extend the approved design framework into a complete website experience
Design additional page templates, navigation structures, and reusable UI components
Maintain visual consistency across all pages and digital assets
Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs
Participate in iterative review and feedback cycles with stakeholders
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience designing professional business websites and landing pages
Strong portfolio demonstrating modern, clean, responsive web design
Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar platforms
Strong understanding of:
Responsive and mobile-first design
UX/UI best practices
Typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy
Accessibility standards and usability principles
Experience working from established brand/style guidelines
Ability to create developer-friendly specifications and assets
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced consulting environment

Experience designing websites for insurance, financial services, or regulated industries
Familiarity with modern CMS platforms and component-based design systems
Understanding of SEO and performance-oriented design principles
Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and front-end implementation considerations
Experience working with distributed or contract-based project teams

Pay Range:
A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $65.00 - $70.00 per hour. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
