We are seeking a Senior Product Designer with a deep focus on motion to join our client's team. This unique role is built for an exceptional animator, motion designer, or UX motion designer—ideally someone who thrives at the intersection of all three. In this role, you will bring motion, character, and interaction to life across our mobile apps and web platforms, crafting charming, engaging, and memorable story moments for our guests. If you know how to move characters with distinct personalities, design scalable motion systems with clear purpose, and deeply understand how animation behaves inside a digital product, this role was written for you.
Responsibilities
Create & Build: Develop 2D and 3D character animations, motion graphics, and interactive motion experiences optimized for mobile apps and web platforms.
Rive Implementation: Deliver production-ready interactive animations in Rive, including state machines, transitions, and character rigs.
UI Optimization: Design micro‑interactions, loading animations, icon animations, and transitions that balance beautiful storytelling craft with the practical realities of digital product delivery.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, product, and various internal departments to understand technical scope, delivery requirements, and asset optimization constraints.
System Evolution: Expand, explore, and elevate the established motion style and visual systems of our existing products to meet and exceed industry standards.
Pitch & Present: Confidently articulate motion design goals and present visual explorations to managers, principal designers, and executive leadership.
Design Culture: Participate actively in brainstorms, project kickoffs, and visual critiques. Receive creative direction well and foster production innovation by sharing best practices.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional animation, motion design, or UX motion design experience, ideally working on branded campaigns, commerce, hospitality, or entertainment products.
Character Expression: Demonstrated ability to animate characters with personality, weight, and emotional expressiveness across a variety of visual styles.
Technical Tool Stack: Expert proficiency in Rive (state machines, rigs, interactive assets).
Mastery of After Effects.
Comfortable working across animation tools such as Maya, Cinema 4D, or equivalent.
Familiarity with Figma is a strong plus.
Motion Principles: Strong understanding of core motion principles (timing, easing, anticipation, staging) and how they apply specifically to product UI.
Problem Solving: Exceptional creative problem‑solving skills with the ability to balance high‑end craft with tight production constraints and timelines.
Soft Skills: A self‑starter with an eye for detail, excellent communication skills, a positive/enthusiastic attitude, and an affinity for the Disney brand and Disney Parks.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in an Art‑related field and/or equivalent relevant work experience.
Qualifications
To be successful, you must bring deep expertise in at least two of the following core disciplines:
2D/3D Character Animation: Strong character animation chops are essential. We want someone who can give a digital character weight, personality, and emotional life.

Scalable Product Motion: Fluency in After Effects, Figma, and equivalent 3D tools (Maya, Cinema 4D) to design micro‑interactions, loading states, UI transitions, and motion systems at scale.
