JOB STATEMENT

Under the supervision of the Scenic Charge Artist Overhire Scenic Artists is responsible for the completion of painting all scenic elements for productions.
JOB DUTIES

Assist the Charge Scenic Artist in painting/finishing of scenery as specified in the design.
Assist in the daily maintenance and clean‑up of the shop and paint areas.
Be an active participant in the construction, load‑in, and strike of all productions.
Touch‑up and maintenance of scenery during the load‑in process and during the course of the run of the show, as required.
Additional related duties as assigned by the Charge Scenic Artist.
REQUIREMENTS (SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE)

Knowledge of painting techniques and color mixing.
Ability to read and interpret working drawings and renderings.
Preferred knowledge with safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, energized and quickly changing environment.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work independently and as a team player.
Detail oriented, able to prioritize efficiently and multi‑task.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

Prolonged periods of standing and bending.
Ability to regularly move and lift 30‑50 lbs.
Regular ladder and MEWP (Personnel Lifts) work at heights up to 30 feet.
Typical hours are during the day, but the position requires flexibility to be available for weekend, holidays, and evening work hours as needed.
