The Audio Visual Lighting (AVL) Technician supports the Performing Arts Facilities Technical Director in providing audio, visual, and lighting services on both the Middle and Upper School campuses. The AVL Technician delivers and installs audiovisual equipment, and maintains and repairs audiovisual equipment. This position provides audiovisual support for events in multiple venues around both campuses and
supports groups and organizations renting facilities at Ransom Everglades.
Essential Duties Responsibilities
• Sets up, tests and calibrates equipment for use.
• Carries out safety checks and deals with faults.
• Identifies causes for AVL problems and resolves the issues. Efficiently operate, troubleshoot, and repair AV equipment.
• Operates equipment as needed for various meetings and events. Sets up and operates video systems, including but not limited to projector setups, multicamera switch set-ups, and live streaming.
• Provides instructions for the operation of equipment to non-AV employees. Trains others in the proper use of equipment.
• Develops, tests, edits, and produces presentations and other multi-format resources. Creates displays and videos to send creative, positive messages related to the school.
• Assists with recording and live streaming of school events.
• Helps maintain AVL systems on both campuses.
• Stays abreast of trends, hardware, and software for the purpose of recommending procedures and advancements in the school's AVL technology investment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• High school diploma and four years of appropriate experience.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of Crestron, QSys, ETC lighting systems, Panasonic Projectors, ViewSonic monitors, and PA Systems.
• Demonstrate basic networking knowledge for the purpose of design, installation, and maintenance of advanced AV control systems.
• Extensive Audio System knowledge including setup of wireless mics, portable PA's, audio system troubleshooting and repair.
• Appropriate vocational/technical training may be considered at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
• OSHA 10 or willingness to get certified within the first two months of employment.
• Degree in AV production preferred but not required.
