ABOUT THE ROLE
The Production Supervisor is responsible for supporting the daily production & manufacturing operations in the facility and for ensuring the highest quality of all finished goods. They will also manage the hourly production team for their assigned shift and work with the rest of the facility leadership team on continuous improvement activities.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Partner with the facility leadership team in building and maintaining a strong safety culture with the intent of reaching a zero incidents state.
Adapt and promote lean manufacturing principles.
Active participant in the Elimination of Waste program.
Support the Company’s Goals and Objectives, including reporting monthly progress.
Keep production areas in ideal state to meet and or exceed 5S standards.
Assign work responsibilities to employees.
Build team member capability.
Create a conducive work environment for employees to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks.
Maintain and enforce required safety standards on plant floor.
Ensure that production requirements are satisfied.
Ensure that Company policies and procedures and the collective agreement are adhered to by employees.
Use strong Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis to take corrective actions.
Execute administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents (e.g., timekeeping, production reporting, etc.
Quality requirements: Authorized to make decisions concerning quality issues.
Develop and implement effective training programs for new team members and recurring training for previously qualified personnel consistent with departmental objectives.
Assists with on-going cycle counting inventory of supplier product and finished goods materials
Maintain production equipment and machinery in proper operating condition through utilization of the Maintenance and Tooling departments.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Excellent communication skills for interaction with the workforce, its suppliers and customers.
Must have a positive, proactive and problem-solving attitude.
Proficient in the use of UKG Workforce Development or a similar timekeeping system.
Microsoft Office proficiency is required, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Must be willing to work periodic weekend overtime.
Experience

Required

5 year(s): Experience in a face paced manufacturing environment, with strong preference given to automotive experience.
Preferred

2 - 3 years: Leadership experience in a heavy manufacturing environment (metals machining, fabrication, etc.)
Experience working in a manufacturing environment with a strong quality system.
Education

Preferred

Bachelors or better in Management or related field
Bachelors or better in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or related field
Licenses & Certifications
