Band Program Leader

Oxford Area High School is seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to lead our band program. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop their musical talents, foster a love for music, and cultivate teamwork and discipline through performance. This role requires a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for students of all skill levels.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive band curriculum that aligns with educational standards and promotes musical growth.
Conduct regular rehearsals and prepare students for performances, competitions, and community events.
Collaborate with other music educators to enhance the overall music program at Nottingham School.
Organize and manage band events, including concerts, festivals, and workshops.
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
Maintain instruments and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Communicate with parents and guardians about student progress and program activities.
Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages student participation and engagement.
Stay current with music education trends and best practices, integrating new ideas into the program.
Requirements:
Proven experience in conducting and teaching band at the middle or high school level.
Strong knowledge of various musical styles and proficiency in multiple instruments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
