The City of Branson is seeking a professional, experienced, and highly skilled

Communications Director

to lead the City's public information, media relations, press release communications, crisis communications, and community engagement efforts.

This position serves as the City's primary public information and communications professional, responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, consistent, and accessible information is shared with residents, businesses, visitors, media outlets, and community partners stakeholders. The Communications Director works closely with executive leadership, department directors, and staff to coordinate official messaging and support transparent communication regarding City programs, services, initiatives, projects, emergencies, and emerging issues.
What You'll Do

Serve as a key communications advisor and spokesperson for the City.
Develop, write, review, and coordinate official City communications, including press releases, public statements, speeches, talking points, and crisis communications.
Lead citywide strategic communication plans, public information campaigns, and community engagement strategies.
Work closely with executive leadership, departments, media outlets, community organizations, and business partners.
Oversee all communications including but not limited too: social media and creative services.
Monitor news, social media, and community feedback to support informed and responsive communication.
Manage communications-related projects, signature events, applicable budgets, and departmental operations.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Executive-level experience leading strategic communications initiatives, preferably within a public-sector organization.
A strong background in leadership, marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field, gained through a combination of education, training, and professional experience.
Knowledge of the region, the City, and its key indutry of tourism.
Experinece dealing with public entity crisis communication.
A proven ability to build partnerships and collaborate effectively with governmental agencies, tourism organizations, and regional partners.

WORK HOURS:

M-F, 8am to 4:30pm; Occasional After Hours Needed. This position requires work to be performed onsite.
