We are seeking an enthusiastic Design Producer to support the Apple Music and Apple Podcasts product design teams. Apple Music is all the ways you love music, all in one place: over 100 million songs ad‑free, on‑and offline listening, perfect playlists for any mood curated by our music experts around the world, as well as personalized recommendations and live radio. Description
An effective Producer advances design efforts by diving deeply into the issues at hand, identifying and mitigating risks to the project, handling dependencies, and tracking all issues impacting deliverables and schedules. This person will partner with the Design Manager to drive many concurrent design projects from ideation to delivery. They will guide each project through the design process and ensure forward momentum by tracking and reporting project status, seeking closure to open questions, identifying next steps and risks, and facilitating design reviews. They will serve as the liaison between Design and cross‑functional teams (Product Management, Engineering, Business).
Responsibilities
Lead design projects, from conception to delivery.
Partner with Product Managers to define requirements, goals, and limitations.
Drive toward clarity by monitoring and seeking answers for open questions from business partners across the organization.
Run meetings and design reviews. Gather key ideas, decisions, issues, and action items in meeting notes.
Build influence and strong cross‑functional partnerships, and foster collaboration across all levels and disciplines.
Negotiate priorities given limited resources and an ambitious schedule.
Act as a filter for the design team to allow them to focus on their priorities and avoid distractions from day‑to‑day work.
Oversee handoff of design and functional specifications to engineering.
Lead validation of builds to ensure design integrity and intended user experience has remained intact during implementation.
Work with Engineering counterparts to ensure backlog is prioritized and scheduled.
Constantly strive for improved workflow to solve challenges and avoid repeat issues.
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years as a producer or program manager with recent experience leading software design.
Deep understanding of UX/UI design thinking, ideation, execution, and product design delivery processes.
Basic understanding of native application development.
Shown ability to meet deadlines and drive results while juggling many projects and priorities.
Employs a proactive project management style – brings structure to a fast‑paced creative environment, mitigates risks early, and prioritizes key issues.
Meticulous attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
BS or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on SaaS products.
Passion for delivering innovative and exceptional UI design to our customers.
Agility in learning new software and tools, with a keen interest in optimizing workflows and processes.
Champions design and user experience while fostering a culture of trust, respect, and healthy debate.
Deep appreciation for Apple, our products, our values, and our customers; a passion for music or podcasts is a plus.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
