Join our creative team and help shape the visual identity of the university through engaging print and digital design. This position develops publications, promotional materials, presentations, and marketing content that supports university communications and branding initiatives.
Responsibilities
Develop marketing and promotional materials
Prepare files for professional print production
Troubleshoot design and production issues and ensure high‑quality products delivered on schedule
Assist with presentations in Google Slides and PowerPoint
Support trademark review processes
Maintain organized digital archives and shared project files for accessibility across the creative team
Contribute creative ideas and innovative design solutions while supporting UAF branding objectives and maintaining high standards for quality, organization, and collaboration
Qualifications
Strong graphic design skills and advanced computer graphics knowledge
Understanding of color theory and visual communication principles
Creativity, high‑level imaginative skills, strong verbal communication and listening abilities
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud products within a Macintosh environment, Microsoft Office, and Google applications
Working knowledge of HTML, XML, CSS, and XSLT is desirable
Comprehensive understanding of graphic design, web design, multimedia principles, and marketing concepts
Working knowledge of video production and Final Cut Pro is preferred
Degree in design (or related field) and a minimum of two years of experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Professional training and work experience in graphic design and production is required
Advanced training in art and illustration preferred

Full‑time, non‑exempt staff position
Competitive salary at UA Staff Salary Schedule Grade 78, based on education and experience
