This role requires an on-campus presence; it is not a remote position.

Duties & Responsibilities

Lead the strategic vision for and implement the Division of Information Technology's comprehensive outreach strategy, overseeing creation, deployment, and management of messaging across campus-wide platforms.

Serve as the institutional lead for content integrity and governance concerning campus-wide AI tools and platforms, including generative AI services, by curating and validating source materials from campus collaborators to ensure accuracy and consistency in all AI-generated content.

Lead a team of undergraduate content creation students focused on communication projects at the Digital Corps, including hiring new employees, creating an onboarding training program, assigning and reviewing work, evaluating students for promotion, and other day-to-day management tasks.

Collaborate with Digital Corps students to support the client-focused communication projects undertaken by the Digital Corps.

Work with Unified Technology Support to create and maintain campus-wide support documents (Knowledgebase) for key Information Technology initiatives.

Lead collaborative efforts within the Division of Information Technology to research and apply forward-thinking outreach trends and strategies. Share these insights with both IT and the Digital Corps to ensure we evaluate new tools and techniques and maintain the Digital Corps’ mission to remain at the forefront of technology.

Provide strategic direction for the launch of new IT systems, collaborating to develop all initial training content and essential documentation to ensure clear and effective information is available to users immediately upon system deployment.

Foster and promote a culture of content excellence and customer-centric knowledge sharing across the Division of Information Technology, establishing standard processes and providing regular consultation and training to support content creation.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in English, creative writing, technical writing, communication, or a related technical field from an accredited college or university by date of appointment. Or, in lieu of a Bachelor's degree: Associate's degree plus an additional combination of education or experience in communication equivalent to two years.

High school diploma or GED plus an additional combination of education or experience in communication equivalent to four years, if no associate degree.

At least two years of communications experience.

Excellent writing and editing skills and the patience to lead, train, and coach undergraduate students in the field of communication strategy.

Soft skills – time management, collaboration, and creativity – highly valued.

Must be able to use a word processing program.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in communication and presentation skills; ability to quickly adapt and become familiar with university processes and procedures, and quickly establish rapport and confidence among multiple university units and levels of the organization.

Ability to meet with end users to capture and understand needs and processes to make informed recommendations for process improvement or system solutions.
