About The Role
The Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Specialist supports paid search initiatives that drive customer acquisition and marketing performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

Support the execution and ongoing optimization of paid search campaigns for TaxSlayer’s Consumer and Professional tax software.

Develop and refine SEM strategies to capture customer demand, especially during peak tax season (December – April).

Use campaign performance data, testing, and insights to improve marketing effectiveness and efficiency.

Maintain account health through routine optimizations.

Ensure paid search ad content aligns with brand standards and compliance requirements.

Collaborate with marketing, data analytics, product development, and creative partners to align paid search efforts with broader goals.

Contribute to paid search performance goals, including customer acquisition, efficiency, and growth targets.

Execute duties with consistent quality and accuracy.

Apply data and insights to support optimization and testing efforts.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams for integrated marketing initiatives.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Must‑Have Skills & Experience

Strong work ethic with a proactive, ownership‑driven mindset.

Experience with paid search platforms such as Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, or Search Ads 360.

Analytical and problem‑solving skills to interpret performance data and identify improvement opportunities.

Familiarity with digital marketing analytics and reporting tools.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data manipulation, basic formulas).

Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment with shifting priorities.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Willingness to learn and grow within the role.

Work performed in a standard office environment with minimal physical demands.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

6 months – 3 years of experience supporting paid search or digital marketing campaigns.

Compensation
The minimum starting salary for this position is $50,000, with potential for higher compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
