Your New Role
CNN is seeking a Director to lead the execution of premium, high-impact video series across its streaming platform. This role sits at the center of CNN’s VOD and streaming strategy, overseeing a growing slate of series and managing a team of Senior Managers, Senior Producers, Producers, and Associate Producers. Reporting to the Executive Producer, VOD & Streaming, the Director will serve as a key operational and creative leader—responsible for translating development concepts into high-quality, scalable productions. This role partners closely with Development, Editorial, and Platform teams to ensure CNN’s video output is distinctive, efficient, and audience-first.

Your Role Accountabilities

Lead Series Production Strategy & Execution

Oversee end-to-end production across a portfolio of original video series, from greenlight through delivery

Ensure projects are executed on time, on budget, and at a high editorial and creative standard

Establish and maintain production workflows that support scale, speed, and quality

Manage, develop, and nurture production teams

Structure teams and assign resources across series based on priority, complexity, and cadence

Mentor and develop team members, building a strong pipeline of production talent

Lead staffing decisions across series and projects

Balance workload across teams, proactively identifying gaps or risks

Drive creative excellence in execution

Partner with Development to bring new concepts to life, ensuring ideas translate effectively into production

Provide editorial and creative guidance at key stages (pitch, pre-production, rough cut, final delivery)

Uphold CNN’s standards for storytelling, reporting, and visual quality

Work closely with Development, Editorial, Audience, and teams to align on priorities and distribution strategy

Serve as the primary bridge between idea generation and execution

Communicate clearly with stakeholders on timelines, tradeoffs, and production needs

Act as a senior leader on the team

Serve as a key escalation point for production and team challenges

Help define and evolve team workflows, and best practices

Step in as needed to represent the team in cross-org conversations

Qualifications & Experience

12+ years of experience in video production, with a focus on series, franchises, or recurring formats

5+ years in a management and leadership role

Proven experience managing teams and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously

Strong editorial judgment and storytelling instincts, with an understanding of news and premium video

Experience building and scaling production workflows in a fast-paced environment

Ability to balance creative ambition with operational realities

Excellent communication and leadership skills

Compensation & Benefits
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $121,380.00 - $225,420.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
