Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of Academic Instruction or Supervisor of Vocational Instruction, and second-line supervision of the Supervisor of Correctional Education Programs, the Television Specialist (TVS) plans, organizes, directs and performs technical and professional work in connection with the writing and production of television and videotape‑recorded programs.
Working Conditions
About this location – Sierra Conservation Center (SCC) is located in the foothills near Jamestown, California, in the heart of the Mother Lode Gold Country. It is adjacent to the Stanislaus National Forest, offering pine trees, mountain streams and a variety of recreational activities. The prison is approximately 70 mi from Yosemite National Park. The primary mission of SCC is to provide housing, programs and services for minimum and medium custody incarcerated individuals to aid in their rehabilitation, and to train and place male inmates in the Conservation Camp Program.

Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge of television production techniques to create educational and training videos, including audio recording, videography, script writing, staging and lighting, editing, electronic theory, and audio‑visual principles.
Knowledge of video formats (JPEG, MPEG, AVI, VOB, etc.) and aspect ratios; ability to manage graphics, still photography, and cable television systems.
Ability to lead planning, writing, producing and directing television productions; innovate solutions to complex audio‑visual communication problems; work independently with minimal supervision; manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
