Job Title
TelevisaUnivision is recruiting a full‑time Technical Director for live newscasts and other station productions in Sacramento, CA.
Responsibilities
- Direct and Technical Direct fast‑paced newscasts and other station productions using a Sony MVS‑6500 switcher in "punch and call" mode.
- Record and film segments for shows, and edit as needed using professional cameras and editing software.
- Set up the studio and control room environments for various productions, including audio and lighting.
- Lead the technical crew before, during and after productions and participate in crew development.
- Actively participate in the News "look" creation and propose new ideas for newscast and show enhancements.
- Shoot, assemble and edit material for daily newscasts, web and other platforms.
- Work with reporters, producers and on solo projects such as video essays.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays and overnight shifts.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of production video switchers (Sony MVS‑6530 or equivalent).
- Experience with non‑linear editing (Premiere Pro or equivalent) and newsroom computer systems (iNEWS or equivalent).
- Knowledge of production cameras such as Sony Z280, Panasonic P2 and DSLR preferred.
- Ability to work in a deadline‑driven live TV environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing and demanding work conditions.
- Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluency in Spanish highly desired but not required.
- Willingness to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Minimum two years of television operations and production experience in a small to medium market.
- Previous directing experience required.
- AA/BA/BS in Television Arts/Sciences desired; work experience considered in lieu of a degree.
- Knowledge of FCC rules and regulations highly desired.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, type, edit, reach and sit for up to eight hours.
- Minimum age 18 and employment/education verified.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
- Willingness to work from the Sacramento office.

Salary
$45,000 – $54,000 + benefits. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
