Organization Overview:

Mommy's Heart, Inc. (EIN #87-4833078) is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, which provides free legal, mental health, and advocacy services to parents and children, who escaped domestic abuse and face retaliatory lawfare by their abusers in court. Due to systemic failures and lack of equal access to justice, abusers are often able to exploit the family court system against victims, resulting in 58,000 children a year being court ordered into unsupervised contact, including sole custody arrangements, with an abusive parent. Every six days a child dies due to family court failures. Mommy’s Heart aims to protect and defend the fundamental rights of all fit parents to direct the care and custody of their children, so that no parent has to fear losing a child for reporting abuse. Mommy’s Heart is dedicated to empowering abuse survivors with equal access to justice, healing, and the chance to rebuild their lives.

Internship Description:
Are you a creative and passionate graphic designer looking to use your skills to make a difference in the lives of abuse survivors? Join Mommy's Heart as a Graphic Designer intern and play a crucial role in visually representing our mission. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on meaningful projects for a nonprofit organization committed to social justice and advocacy.
Responsibilities:
As a Graphic Designer Intern at Mommy's Heart, you will have the opportunity to create impactful visuals that communicate our mission, raise awareness, and support our initiatives. Your responsibilities may include:
Visual Content Creation:

Design graphics, illustrations, and visual content for social media, website, and marketing materials to effectively convey our message.
Branding Support:

Ensure consistency in branding across all materials, maintaining our visual identity.
Campaign Materials:

Collaborate with the team to create eye-catching materials for awareness campaigns, fundraisers, and events.
Print and Digital Design:

Produce designs for both print (e.g., brochures, flyers) and digital (e.g., social media posts, email newsletters) platforms.
Photo Editing:

Edit and enhance images to improve their visual appeal and alignment with our messaging.
Collaboration:

Work closely with the marketing and communications team to understand design needs and deliver creative solutions.

Qualifications:
Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.).
Strong design portfolio showcasing creativity and versatility.
Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics and design principles.
Effective communication skills and the ability to interpret and translate ideas into visuals.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
