Nexstar Broadcasting is hiring: Producer, News in Rockford

WQRF (FOX) & WTVO (ABC) in Rockford, IL is seeking a multi‑talented, self‑motivated News Producer who is digitally aware and eager to cover the news across all platforms.
Responsibilities Produce daily newscast items, write teases and other content, and determine the order in which stories are told.
Time news programs, edit video, and upload final cuts to the station website.
Produce newscasts for broadcast across all platforms.
Write and order news stories, approve scripts, and balance news and feature content to create compelling broadcasts.
Write stories for the website and other eMedia platforms.
Interact with viewers and users on social media sites.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Fluency in English and excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Minimum two years’ experience in news operations (depending on market size).
Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Flexibility to work any shift.
Compensation $15–$16 per hour, commensurate with experience and skill level.
