KBVR-TV Sports Producer
This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) KBVR-TV Sports Producer for the KBVR-TV at Oregon State University (OSU). The KBVR-TV Show Producer is responsible for coordinating and producing live TV broadcasts for KBVR-TV. This includes live TV shows broadcast on channel 26 and online, and the uploading of full episodes and online-exclusive content to KBVR's online platforms, including YouTube and Facebook.

Position Duties - Create and oversee content for live sports broadcasts that airs four (4) times per term on KBVR-TV during the academic year. Exact dates to be determined by TV Station Manager. Live sports broadcasts will be live, multiple camera, play-by-play of sports. May include intramural sports, club sports, OSU sports, Linn-Benton CC sports, or others, to be determined with station manager. Coordinate with person-in-charge of venue (athletics facilities, intramural staff, school staff, etc) on start time, setup and teardown times. Ensure all shows are properly staffed with dedicated volunteer crew members (director, cameras, audio, etc.). Ensure volunteers are trained on equipment before the day of the show. Work to ensure all crew members are given equal opportunities to grow, learn, and try out new crew positions. A producer creates the vision for the show, but it must be executed by a crew. A successful producer will not take on responsibilities that should be done by crew (hosting, directing, etc). Build a detailed rundown for each episode, and share rundown and tech book with the crew and station manager 5 days in advance of shoot. When live show is completed, optimize show for YouTube and upload to KBVR-TV YouTube page within 24 hours and properly label it with appropriate title, description, tags, and cover image. After every show, hold a show meeting with crew specifically to watch the episode and engage in feedback and critique. Responsible for ensuring all videos (both broadcast and online) have complete and accurate captioning. Provide full scripts, transcripts and prep material to station manager no later than 24 hours before airtime to ensure live captioners can review and ensure accuracy. Share links to full episodes on YouTube immediately following the broadcast. Other duties as assigned by the adviser.

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study. Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment. Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard. High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program. Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term. Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term. Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term. Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term. International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications - Comfortable shooting and editing video. Knowledgeable about live studio production. Knowledgeable about field video production. Knowledgeable of legal regulations and ethical principles guiding television and video. Is a strong communicator and comfortable with public speaking. Is organized and reliable. Is comfortable giving and receiving feedback. Able to remain professional and calm when working with difficult individuals and situations.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications - Has previously been a paid staff member or crew member of KBVR-TV. Prior attendance and participation in OMN training camp. Previous live sports broadcast or sports video experience.
