Position SummaryThe Assistant Director, Creative Services supports the visual storytelling and digital content strategy for Rice Athletics, with primary responsibility for women's basketball and additional involvement with select Olympic sports. This role focuses on creating high‑quality video, photo, and digital content that supports recruiting, fan engagement, and brand visibility across multiple platforms. Working in collaboration with Athletics staff and the Creative Services team, this position contributes to content planning, social media execution, and creative production throughout the year.This is a full‑time, on‑campus role requiring flexibility with scheduling and travel during competitive seasons. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in communications, digital media, graphic design, marketing, public relations, or a related field1+ years of relevant professional experienceSkillsStrong experience in video and photo production for digital platformsExperience managing social media platforms or digital content calendarsProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Premiere Pro and PhotoshopStrong organizational, communication, and time‑management skillsAbility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as requiredMust be able to travel with women's basketball and for limited postseason eventsMust thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environmentPreferencesWorking knowledge of graphic design and visual layoutPrior experience supervising professional staff, student employees, or entry‑level creativesFamiliarity with collegiate athletics or sports production environmentsExperience with motion graphics and advanced post‑production workflows is a plusEssential FunctionsServe as the primary creative lead for women's basketball, including video, photo, and digital contentManage and execute women's basketball social media content, including planning, scheduling, and real‑time coverageSupport content creation and social media management for assigned Olympic sportsCreate highlights, features, promotional edits, and recruiting‑related content throughout the yearTravel fully with women's basketball; limited postseason travel with Olympic sportsSupervise and support a Creative Digital Media SpecialistCollaborate with other departments within Athletics to meet day‑to‑day content needsSupport department‑wide initiatives, photoshoots, and eventsBenefitsBenefits information is available at
