Overview The Production Supervisor helps to ensure the manufacturing process remains smooth and efficient by organizing workflows and monitoring staff. They direct, train, motivate and assist lower-level manufacturing and production workers, both directly and through floor leads. The Production Supervisor will implement assigned work, organizing, monitoring, and prioritizing tasks to meet production goals. They work as a liaison between employees and senior leadership to ensure procedures and policies are well-understood and the department's requirements are met. This position will report to a Production Manager.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssist with managing the processing of products from start to finish in accordance with internal quality control specificationsSupervising operations within a facility to achieve higher outputMaintain communication between floor workers and production leadershipOrganizing, monitoring, and prioritizing tasks to meet production goalsEnsuring compliance with safety and professional standards within a facilityEvaluate and communicate production operations to ensure optimum efficiencyAssist with interviewing and training new team membersAssist with providing leadership and resolve employee problems, complaints and grievancesProvide support and on-the-floor training to employees and leads to achieve goalsAssist with scheduling, managing and tracking labor in real-time through ADPMonitor labor and overtime hoursDrive an environment of teamwork and open communicationAccountable for project completion and achievement of such goalsHelp manage an environment that drives performance while maintaining a safe workplaceHelp coordinate quality, safety, manufacturing, maintenance and distribution activities to meet and exceed the internal and external customer/regulatory expectations5+ years with increasingly responsible management positions in the food processing industry, preferably in a supervisory or line lead capacityHACCP certified, in Seafood, requiredOSHA-10 Certified, requiredKnowledge of manufacturing tools and equipmentFood industry background preferred; Seafood industry experience is a plusBilingual English/Spanish preferredAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers, supervisors, or employees of the companyProven leader in improving work processes and leading change in a complex, fast-paced environmentAble to manage priorities and complexities, strong multitasking skillsAble to understand and improve performance, efficiency and product yieldStrong supervisory, interpersonal, training, and communication skillsKnowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety regulationsUnderstand OSHA/FDA/USDA requirements in a seafood manufacturing environmentIntermediate computer skills Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookStrong written and verbal communication skillsADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to lift 30-50 poundsWork up to a 10-hour workday: standing/walking 6-8 hoursHand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pullingWork requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reachingExposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicalsExposure to temperatures: Ability to work in wet and dry conditionsAbility to work Monday-Friday, weekends when neededAbility to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machineryNorth Coast Seafoods is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against otherwise qualified applicants on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, ancestry, age, sex, marital status, national origin, disability or handicap, or veteran status.At North Coast, employees are considered part of a family where everyone works together to ensure the founding mission and values of the company are upheld every day.
