Job DescriptionAirbus Helicopters is looking for a skilled UAS Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our production team. The role oversees the end‑to‑end assembly, calibration, and testing of mission‑critical aircraft components, ensuring every build meets our 95% First Pass Yield standard of excellence.Meet the TeamOur Flexrotor Program delivers one of the most sophisticated small tactical unmanned aerial systems (STUAS) with vertical take‑off and landing (VTOL), used day or night by U.S. and allied forces for a diverse range of intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) missions on land and at sea.Your Working EnvironmentLocated in the Columbia River Gorge, Washington, you'll be part of a cohesive crew that thrives on innovation and mission success while enjoying flexibility and an inspiring Northwest setting.How We Care for YouCompetitive base salary and incentive compensation, including profit sharing, retirement savings plan, and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).Paid time off, holidays, and a generous parental leave program.Comprehensive health & welfare coverage: medical, dental, vision, life, disability, Employee Assistance Plan (EAP), and supplemental benefits.Your ChallengesProduction Assembly: 95%Fabricate, assemble, install, repair, replace, adjust, and align metallic and composite parts and components.Conduct functional checks of systems for proper functioning.Execute work from 3‑D blueprints, sketches, diagrams, technical manuals, work orders, inspection reports, and other documentation.Build complex mechanical assemblies within established periods and processes with a high degree of accuracy and quality.Rotate through all tasks required in a particular production process.Set up and operate production equipment per current manufacturing practices and SOPs.Maintain production equipment and tools.Operate test equipment (e.g., dynamometers, oscilloscopes).Provide investigation details of failed and damaged components.Production Troubleshooting: 5%Diagnose malfunctions or failures in aircraft systems such as equipment furnishings, fuel system, landing gear, doors, fuselage, stabilizer, rotor systems, power plant, and engine controls.Your Boarding PassHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Minimum of two (2) years of mechanical assembly or related mechanical experience.Basic computer skills.Read, interpret, and follow written technical data.Familiarity with common mechanical tooling.Travel Required5% domestic and international travel.CitizenshipRequires U.S. Person Status under ITAR definition (U.S. citizen, green card holder, or other covered under our ITAR license).Physical Requirements95% onsite; 5% remote.Vision: read screens, documents, and engineering drawings (100%).Hearing: participate in conversations and hear safety warnings (100%).Speaking: clear communication in meetings (100%).Equipment Operation: use office and production tools (100%).Carrying & Lifting: up to 30 lbs/14 kg (100%).Pushing / Pulling: small office furniture and tools (50%).Sitting: long periods in meetings, on computer (10%).Squatting / Kneeling: 10%.Standing: 80%.Travel: independent at short notice (5%).Walking: uneven surfaces (50%).Personal Protective Equipment: safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks, gloves, and site‑specific PPE.Administrative position: steel‑toed shoes and appropriate hearing/eye protection on shop floor visits.Pay RangeHourly pay range based on the required profile: $20.55 – $33.97 per hour. Actual minimum and maximum may vary by geographic differential. Pay is based on skills, experience, and other factors.
