Position Overview

Klas‑TV, the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas, Nevada, a DigitalFirst operation focused on delivering local content 24/7 across all platforms, is recruiting a Reporter/Multimedia Journalist. The role requires shooting, writing and editing reports while populating content on digital and social platforms. The ideal candidate fights for the lead story, brings fresh story ideas, cultivates sources and wins stories across all platforms. Strong storytelling skills, energetic delivery and a passion for news are required. MMJ experience is mandatory; a college degree and at least two years of television news reporting experience are preferred.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Pitch unique stories that will get results and drive ratings.
Develop and execute enterprise content consistently.
Cover breaking news with a sense of urgency.
Establish and maintain relationships with local sources.
Produce content for the website and digital channels.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Ensure all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
Interact with viewers/users on social media sites.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education.
Minimum of 2 years professional MMJ experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to ad lib when required.
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Conditional upon satisfactory background and DMV check.
Flexibility to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

The Reporter/Multimedia Journalist must sit, conduct telephone conversations, use email, write letters and memos, conduct face‑to‑face discussions with individuals or groups, and make independent decisions. The work may involve occasional outdoor duties in all weather conditions or indoor duties in controlled environments. The position requires lifting, setting up and operating equipment up to 25 pounds, handling repetitive movements, and working in extremely bright or inadequately lit conditions.
