People And Culture Coordinator

Riggs Washington DC sits on the iconic downtown corner of Penn Quarter's 9th and F Street in a historic building once home to Riggs National Bank. Each of the Hotel's 181 guest rooms offers a playful nod to the building's legacy. Riggs is home to the all-occasion European brasserie-inspired restaurant Café Riggs, as well as Silver Lyan – a subterranean bar from the internationally acclaimed Ryan Chetiyawardana, also known as Mr Lyan.
As the People and Culture Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our team members at our two DC hotels, Riggs Washington DC and Lyle Washington DC, promoting a positive work environment. You will work closely with the People & Culture team to implement and execute various initiatives related to recruitment, onboarding, training, employee engagement, and more. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about people and culture and wants to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic and fast-paced hospitality environment.
Responsibilities:

Assist with recruitment efforts, including job postings, resume screening, scheduling interviews, and conducting initial interviews
Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth and positive experience from start to finish
Plan and organize employee training programs and workshops to support professional development and skill enhancement
Manage employee records and HRIS systems (Workday) ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
Assist with the implementation of employee engagement initiatives, such as team-building activities, recognition programs, and wellness initiatives
Provide support with employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions
Assist with the coordination of company events and activities, including holiday parties, staff celebrations, and community engagement events
Qualifications:

1-2 years of experience in HR or a related role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach to service.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and HRIS systems.
Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
Positive attitude, with a passion for promoting a positive work culture and employee engagement.
Spanish speaker is preferred.
