Description: The Advanced Technology Center (ATC) is the research lab for Lockheed Martin Space. The Space Sciences and Instrumentation group at the ATC carries out basic research in Solar and Astrophysics by developing scientific, spaceflight instrumentation. We are seeking a deputy program manager to support the development of space flight hardware for a NASA heliophysics mission.
The position will hire in as an Associate Manager (L4) and will have personnel responsibilities along with program management duties.
The position includes:
Program planning
Scheduling
Developing budgets and preparing program cost proposals
Managing procurements and subcontracts
Reporting program metrics and status to internal and external stakeholders
Preparing weekly and monthly program reports
Working with contracts and team leads to ensure timely CDRL deliveries
Managing a team of engineers and support staff to enable the development, fabrication, and testing of hardware subsystems
Assisting with personnel planning and management
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience leading teams in a related capacity such as program manager, IPT lead, team lead, CPE, or portfolio manager
Engineering experience with hardware or software development of systems for a US Government customer
Desired Skills:
Prior LM Leadership experience
Management of a program or portfolio with value greater that $20M
Experience reporting to LM senior or executive management
Experience reporting to NASA or other US Govt program leadership
Experience with development schedules; Microsoft Project experience a plus
Experience with program budgeting or Cost Account Management
Experience with NASA or other Government program life cycle program reviews such as SRR, PDR, and CDR
Proposal development experience including BOEs or other cost or planning elements; proposal capture management a plus
Experience with LM IRAD including planning, budgeting, and executing
Electrical, Computing/Software, Mechanical, Optical, or related engineering background

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $120,700 - $227,400. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
