JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB GOAL:
To acquire, prepare,and produce videocontent from conceptto completion that showcases school district initiatives and programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degreefrom an accredited educational institution in Communications, Broadcast Television Production, Film Production, or related major field preferred, and
Minimum of five (5) years' experience in Video Production, Broadcasting, or film.
Valid FloridaDriver's License.
Part 107 FAA certification desired.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the organization, operation, programs, and goals of the District. Extensive knowledge of digital video production and post-production equipment including the Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of the placement of microphones and calibration of audio levels, lighting techniques for television. Ability to use Teleprompters, align and adjustcameras with electronic test equipment, and to pre-record and ready all necessary audio/video materials to be used during shootingsessions. Ability to direct production. Ability to utilizerelative computer equipment, instructional software, broadcast equipment, television programming, and post-production technology. Ability to work independently and to make decisions with minimum supervision. Ability to schedule time, prioritize, and work efficiently. Ability to handle multiple tasks in stressful situations with ease and efficiency. Ability to work cooperatively and deal tactfully with departmental officials and employees of the School Board. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and organizations. Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Ability to understand and adhere to technical directives and instructions.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops video concept, schedulesshoots and interviews, records footage, organizesvisual content, and edits content into videos.
Work with the supervisor to create programming schedule for Communications Department platforms to include Manatee Schools Television, social media and website.
Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
Shoot, edit and createoriginal programs, instructional video, and graphicsfor programming including events and activities of the district as directed.
Collaborate with high schoolinstructors and studentsto create programming for the district's cable channel as well as with the MTC Digital Video Production Program.
Strong visualstoryteller with an understanding of NPPA style.
Produce promotional spots for the channels relatedto programming, publicservice announcements and District events.
Assist in the programming and live broadcastof satellite transmission, teleconferencing, video conferencing, two-way distance education production, programming and distribution.
Keep the Manager up to date on cable programs,issues and concerns.
Assist in digitizing and scheduling programming in the computerized cable channel scheduling system.
Assist the supervisor in designing marketing plan and distribution of marketing materials.
Assist the supervisor in researching customerneeds and creatinga programming plan to fulfillthe cable strategic plan.
Assist the supervisor in community outreach, presentations and building viewership.
Maintain positive relationships with staff and vendors.
Communicate effectively with staff and vendors.
Follow all School Board policies, rulesand regulations.
Demonstrate supportfor the School District and its goals and priorities.
Provide trainingin the use of equipment as used in the classroom.
Collaborate with other districtdepartments to providetelevision technology assistance.
Provide instructional production design and consultation.
Make purchasing recommendations in the areas of camcorders, digitalcameras, and studio-related equipment.
Follow attendance, punctuality and properdress rules.
Ensure adherenceto good safety standards.
Maintain confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20pounds of force and/orup to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects. Regularly required to drive county vehicles as part of the duties of the job.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. The length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
