You will play the key role in developing and executing strategies to drive growth and profitability of your region.Essential FunctionsStrategic Planning and ExecutionDevelop and execute the Annual Operating Plan consisting of sales targets, sales and marketing plans, and operating expense budgetingAnalyze and evaluate sales activities as well as market trends and customer needs for sales optimizationAssist the outside salesforce in developing target markets and identifying opportunitiesBusiness plan development at the sales rep level and support of sales force toolkitsAssist operational managers in planning and execution of delivery routes, to ensure operational costs are kept within budgeted parametersWork closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate objectives and priorities are enabled within the sales organizationDefine and evaluate issues, develop methods, and revise procedures within established policiesPerforms other duties as assignedCustomer Focus and Manufacturing Partner RelationsEstablish relationships within the animal health industry at the management level to facilitate growth opportunitiesBe personally involved and invested in the relationships with top customers in the regionDevelop and maintain strong manufacturer relationships and identify new opportunities and partnersWork with Purchasing in monitoring product purchases, inventory levels and pricing, forecasting, and identifying new opportunitiesPeople ManagementEncourage the growth of all direct and indirect reports through skill development and goal settingHold direct reports accountable for meeting performance standards and departmental performance goalsMentor employees, measure performance, and complete regular performance reviewsResolve employee issues in an effective and consistent mannerJob QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Poultry Science, Animal Science, Management, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of three (3) years of experience with a proven track record in salesThorough knowledge of the animal health industryPrior experience in customer service and dealing directly with customers in a sales capacity.Prior knowledge of sales and asset management.Strong oral and written communication skills.Financial management experience.Computer proficiency including SAP and Microsoft Office SuitePreferred QualificationsPrevious people management experienceSAP experienceWorking ConditionsPhysical DemandsOperating a computer or other office devices for the majority of the workdayMay occasionally need to move packages up to 10 pounds such as office supplies or equipmentMust be able to communicate with others in person, over the phone, and in writingMust be able to understand and effectively exchange accurate information with others such as coworkers, customers and vendorsMust be able to read and interpret various electronic and written documentsEnvironmental FactorsThis position is in an office environment in which team members occupy desks in assigned areas or at meeting/collaboration spaces within the building.
