Temporary Associate Designer, Soft Accessories

Our client, a popular fashion brand, is seeking an

Associate Designer

to support their Soft Accessories team in New York!

Responsibilities:
Work with Design Director/ Design Manager to research; develop concepts, knits, fabrics, color and silhouette designs based on the global creative direction and emerging trends within the marketplace for Cold Weather, Lightweight Scarves and Women’s Headwear in Mainline and Outlet
Present initial design concepts through sketches and tear sheets to meet line plan requirements while preserving brand vision
Clearly communicate technical construction details and design intent through technical specs, photos and correction pages.
Review samples for corrections based on technical accuracy, workmanship and aesthetics
Create specs for hardware and trims, reviewing technical drawings from vendors when received
Help maintain standards for quality and construction as defined by design leads
Support the design team with PLM input and maintenance of tech packs and BOMs
Help maintain accuracy of the linesheet in Miro
Create CADs to represent season color offerings
Execute renderings to communicate changes in construction, artwork, logo placement, etc.

Qualifications:
4 years of work experience in design, technical design or product development with a focus on knits and soft accessories
Bachelor degree in design (preferably fashion design or industrial design) preferred
Strong print design and experience with screen printing techniques
Strong print design and experience with screen printing techniques
Experience in PLM a plus
Experience in Miro a plus
