Job Title: Senior Learning Experience Designer (Technical & Process)
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive Learning Experience Designer to lead the development of training solutions that drive the adoption of new enterprise systems and complex business processes. You will be responsible for translating high-level technical documentation into clear, engaging, and practical learning experiences that move the needle on user behavior and performance.
This is a "cradle-to-grave" design role. We need a self-directed professional who can take ownership of a project from initial stakeholder intake through final delivery. The ideal candidate isn't just an order-taker; you are an instructional consultant who diagnoses performance gaps and builds the right learning interventions-whether instructor-led, blended, or digital-to bridge them.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development
• Instructional Strategy: Design and develop instructor-led training (ILT) and high-impact supporting assets (job aids, quick-reference guides, interactive modules) that facilitate system and process adoption.
• Complex Simplification: Translate technical, process-heavy content into clear, visually intuitive, and learner-centered materials. Use storytelling, scenarios, and real-world use cases to make complex systems relatable and actionable.
• Performance-Focused Design: Apply instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, Action Mapping) to ensure learning solutions are focused on changing behavior, not just teaching "button-clicking."
Stakeholder & Project Management
• Collaborative Partnership: Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and business stakeholders to clarify project priorities, define "success," and iterate on designs based on real-time feedback.
• Self-Directed Delivery: Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously. Proactively track timelines, dependencies, and deliverables with minimal oversight, ensuring stakeholders are consistently aligned.
• Iterative Refinement: Use feedback loops to continuously improve training materials, ensuring they remain relevant as business needs evolve.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: BA/BS degree in a related field.
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in classroom facilitation, instructional design, and professional content creation.
• Design Mastery: Strong visual design capability, including the ability to create clean, professional layouts in presentations and digital assets that prioritize learner usability and clarity.
• Instructional Theory: Deep understanding of instructional design principles and learning science (e.g., Mayer's principles of multimedia learning) to guide design decisions.
• Ownership Mindset: Proven ability to manage the full instructional design lifecycle-from intake and analysis through design, development, and delivery.
Preferred Attributes
• Technical Experience: Experience working with technical systems, complex manufacturing workflows, or high-level operational processes.
• Tool Proficiency: Experience with industry-standard design and authoring tools, such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Creative Suite, or Canva.
• Blended Learning: Experience developing eLearning or blended-learning solutions beyond traditional classroom settings.
