Position Overview
The Program Manager, Divisions assists in the facilitation of governance, strategic planning, and execution of NDIA Division activities in alignment with team objectives. The role supports the SVP of the Meetings, Divisions & Partnerships and the Sr./Director, Divisions, acting as a liaison for planning between the Meetings, Divisions & Partnerships Business Center and various association groups.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the development and coordination of innovative initiatives that support NDIA’s Vision, Goals, and Strategic Priorities.
Facilitate the articulation of each Division’s value to NDIA members and government stakeholders, creating relevant initiatives, content, and relationships.
Provide guidance to division coordinators and broader Division leadership.
Develop and align Division strategic priorities, goals, and action lines, especially for large‑scale events.
Maintain positive relationships with Division chairs and senior leaders through consistent support, strategic initiatives, and open communication.
Manage a diverse portfolio of divisions to further NDIA’s mission.
Support the Associate Director and Sr./Director in standardizing charters, SOPs, succession plans, and data management.
Update and maintain Division web pages, sites, and documents as directed.
Coordinate the creation and upkeep of charters and succession plans.
Collaborate with NDIA Meetings on administrative duties for meetings, workshops, and conferences.
Execute updates to schedules, timelines, web pages, community sites, mobile apps, and related documentation.
Prepare post‑event analyses and summary documents for senior leadership.
Travel locally and out of town as required to support Division, Working Group, and Committee events.
Assist in briefings to NDIA staff, leadership, and membership, facilitating interaction among association members and chapters.
Support Division‑focused membership and volunteer recruitment activities.
Prioritize understanding Division leadership goals and challenges to collaborate effectively on strategic priorities.
Maintain SOP/Operating Guidelines for NDIA Divisions in alignment with policies and procedures.
Internal Relationships
Maintains close, frequent contact with the Senior VP, Meetings, Divisions & Partnerships; (Senior) Director, Divisions; Meetings Policy & Strategy; and other NDIA teams.
External Relationships
Extensive contact with Division leadership, NDIA Board of Directors, corporate members, military, and government stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
3–5 years of program management experience in a non‑profit, for‑profit, foundation, or government setting.
High intellectual and critical thinking skills.
Confidence and effectiveness in public speaking.
Strong personal accountability, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Collaborative work style and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and social media platforms.
Personal commitment to NDIA mission and values.
Knowledge of virtual event platforms and related productivity tools preferred.
Moderate travel (25%–40%) required.
