Job Summary
The Community Partnership Coordinator is responsible for cultivating and developing relationships with potential and existing community partners and community stakeholders to increase access to food across the state of South Dakota. This position also identifies and evaluates program viability, opportunities to improve existing partnerships and program offerings, and makes recommendations to leadership for improvement in these areas. The Coordinator raises awareness regarding food insecurity within the service area, increases food access through community‑led initiatives and agency partnerships, and acts as a conduit between the community and Feeding South Dakota’s multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
Use data provided by Feeding South Dakota to identify trends and gaps, potential community partners and stakeholders, and create a strategic plan to meet food insecurity needs in each county within the designated geographic region.
Provide ongoing support to community partners to ensure successful collaboration and implementation of the strategic plan.
Ensure community partners comply with the guidelines set by Feeding South Dakota, Feeding America, and the U.S. government (USDA) regarding partnership agreements and commodity programs (TEFAP & CSFP).
Support community partners electronically and conduct two to three site visits with potential and existing partners per week; visits with community stakeholders may be included in this total.
Facilitate two to four tours per month of the Feeding South Dakota distribution center within the region.
Assist in developing educational training materials and creating standard operating procedures for the Community Partnership Team.
Train new community partners regarding Feeding South Dakota’s programs and policies (TEFAP, Senior Box, Backpack, School Pantry, and Wellness Pantries).
Maintain and update county resource information.
Identify community partner forum topics and recommendations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements : Sedentary work that includes lifting approximately 10 pounds at a time, occasionally lifting or carrying items such as files, paper, or small office equipment. The role involves prolonged sitting, with occasional walking in warehouse areas, and primarily operating a computer and telephone.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
6–10 years of relevant experience.
Microsoft Office Specialist: Associate certification.
Applicant located in or around Aberdeen, SD.
