Description of Work
As a Graphic Designer for the Commission’s Bureau of Marketing & Strategic Communications, you will create clear and engaging visual materials to help our agency reach people in clear and meaningful ways. Our team will rely on you to create appealing designs and participate in marketing initiatives and events. Your duties in this role will include:
Graphic Design Processes: Design graphics and manage uploading process of visual project materials for marketing, outreach, web content, social media, and other agency needs
Brand Strategy Support: Participate in development and strategic planning for agency marketing initiatives
Design Project Management: Work with multiple teams on a wide range design projects; encourage and assist staff in branding public communication materials
Community Engagement: Assist with marketing initiatives and events that explain Commission programs and generate support and interest
Quality and Accuracy: Proofread, check content for accuracy, and ensure all graphics align with agency guidelines and mission goals
Design Innovation: Stay current on design trends and tools to ensure agency outreach continues to connect with new and existing audiences
Work Schedule and Additional Information
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 45-minute lunch
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Telework is not permitted during the initial six-month probationary period; eligibility may be granted upon its successful completion. Telework requires a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If telework is not possible, you may report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Availability of telework is subject to change. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility
Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of professional experience in the development and implementation of conservation education programs; and a bachelor’s degree with coursework in wildlife management, journalism, communications, or a closely related field; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirement: You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualification (not required): Possess a current Class C driver's license which is not under suspension
Legal Requirements
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
