A leading marketing company is seeking a

PR Coordinator

to support media relations and public relations campaigns. The ideal candidate is a proactive communications professional with strong organizational and writing skills. Working collaboratively, this position will support PR initiatives by drafting materials and managing media outreach while coordinating campaign tasks and tracking media placements.

Responsibilities

Support the execution of PR campaigns across multiple clients and initiatives
Assist with media pitching, follow-ups, and coverage tracking
Draft and format press releases, media pitches, bios, and event descriptions
Build and maintain targeted media lists, with a focus on Houston and regional outlets
Support event-based PR, including run-of-show preparation, media coordination, and on-site assistance when needed
Track deliverables, deadlines, and media placements using agency tools
Assist with award submissions and media opportunities
Manage internal communication, task coordination, and administrative PR support
Ensure all materials align with brand voice, messaging, and deadlines
Requirements

3+ years of experience in public relations or corporate communications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience or familiarity with media pitching and PR workflows
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a remote environment
Familiarity with tools such as Google Workspace, Canva, Excel, Notion, Airtable, Asana, Slack, or similar platforms
Ability to work independently while staying responsive and accountable
Must be based in Houston, TX or surrounding area
Agency experience preferred
Experience supporting events or in-person activations preferred
Familiarity with Houston media outlets and local press preferred
Interest in entrepreneurship, community development, women-led businesses, or nonprofit work preferred
