Position Overview
Eaton Corporation is seeking a Director, Global Commercial and Engineering Finance for its Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions Business. Candidates will be based in Syracuse, NY; Beachwood, OH; or Moon Township, PA, and will report to the VP of Global Finance. This role leads Commercial Controlling and focuses on strategy, product line performance, sales support, NPI investment and ROI, global pricing, portfolio management, and complexity oversight, working closely with senior leadership across functions.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and execution of long‑term strategies across the product portfolio, including innovation, portfolio management, globalization, commercialization excellence, end‑market diversification, and operations excellence.
- Build out the product platform P&L structure and provide a foundation for financial performance: revenue growth, profitability (margin and ROS), and working capital. Support the team’s transition to a dashboard system and align product lines with regional financial forecasts.
- Partner with regional leaders to analyze, prioritize, track, and execute out‑growth investments such as NPI and penetration globally, focusing on ROI, BOC quality, and ProLaunch improvements and aligning investments with regional performance through ROPs.
- Support profitability initiatives and partner with Global Product Line Managers to create standard work for head‑and‑tail, mix management, transfers of work, complexity management, and cost‑saving initiatives.
- Update standard work and process rigor around pricing to ensure entitlement through timely actions. Work with regions and commercial teams to deliver desired pricing strategies and improve win rate while maintaining profitability.
- Build an M&A pipeline, analyze potential targets, create synergy cases, and conduct make‑vs‑buy analysis, completing “tail” analysis for the portfolio and supporting divestiture activities.
- Support Eaton’s digital strategy on new technologies, business models, and revenue streams that will drive transformation.
- Create standard work and analytics for vertical‑market indicators and share analysis.
- Analyze competitive landscape and external financials (when available) to support business activity.
- Own the monthly Engineering forecast for GEIS, including R&D, Sustaining, NPI, and SG&A‑related costs.
- Serve as the primary finance partner to the GEIS VP Global Marketing and Engineering, providing forecast updates, variance analysis, and corrective‑action recommendations.
- Translate engineering project forecasts into Oracle Planning / Encore and align with ProPM inputs and enterprise targets.
- Support the annual Profit Plan cycle, ensuring systems for demand input, headcount allocation, and total spend waterlining, including labor rates and FX analysis.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution.
- Minimum ten (10) years broad financial experience.
- Minimum three (3) years managing people and/or project teams.
- Ability to travel up to 10 %.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Business Administration (MBA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
- Finance experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or commercial organization.

Compensation
Expected annual salary range: $165,000 – $242,000. Eligibility for a variable incentive program. Salary information is a general guideline only and is based on candidate skills, experience, and market considerations.
