Overview

WBOY is looking for a Multimedia Journalist/Reporter to join the team at north central West Virginia's top-rated TV station. This role involves shooting, editing, and writing independently while maintaining an online presence. The reporter will present stories live from the field or from a new studio, producing broadcast-quality content for all platforms.
Responsibilities

Produce, report, shoot, write, voice, and edit news content for all platforms.
Report news stories for broadcast, providing background and details.
Arrange interviews with relevant sources.
Review copy, correct errors, and follow editorial style and formatting guidelines.
Research and analyze background information related to news stories.
Pitch stories to news managers and producers relevant to the local community.
Receive assignments, evaluate leads and tips, and develop story ideas.
Revise work to meet editorial approval or fit time requirements.
Shoot and edit news events and reports.
Produce and present reports for all platforms.
Ensure all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
Write stories for the web.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Fluency in English.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to ad lib.
Superior on-air presence.
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Flexibility to work any shift.
