Position Summary
The Patron Experience and Marketing Strategist for the Visual and Performing Arts Center plays a pivotal role in promoting department programming by overseeing marketing, social media presence, box office operations and front‑of‑house experience, in addition to overseeing event logistics and day‑of event supervision. This position blends creative storytelling with strong organizational and customer service skills to ensure events are well‑attended and well‑run.
Principal Duties and Essential Functions
Social Media and Marketing
Assist in the creation of physical publications for the department in conjunction with the administrative manager, including posters, programs, postcards and mailings.
Develop and execute marketing campaigns to promote department events.
Manage and maintain VPA social media (Facebook, Instagram, etc.), digital ads and email marketing pieces, in conjunction with VPA administrative manager.
Responsible for creating and maintaining regularly scheduled e‑communications to the box office patron list and student community via the Arts Buzz newsletter in conjunction with VPA administrative manager.
Responsible for gathering promotional information and graphics from VPA faculty and staff for social media usage.
Analyze metrics and data from social media and e‑correspondences and recommend strategies to improve reach, exposure and effectiveness.
Box Office and Front‑of‑House
Manage VPA box office, including the staffing, supervision and training of box office work study and volunteer students, subscription and group ticket reservations, box office general procedures, audience seating assignments, accommodations for VIPs and persons with special needs.
Oversee daily box office services, including ticket sales, printing, reporting and reconciliations.
Responsible for listing of PAC events in online ticketing system in a timely manner, in conjunction with VPA administrative manager.
Responsible for front‑of‑house box office operations for all VPA events, including ticket sales, will call and door supervision.
Responsible for management and upkeep of box office patron mailing lists.
Event Management
Support all concert, performance and event logistics, including day‑of‑event duties in conjunction with VPA technical director and administrative manager.
Responsible for student work study onboarding, scheduling/assignment and time approval.
Ensure a welcoming, organized and accessible environment for all patrons.
Address audience needs and resolve issues in real time.
Additional Responsibilities
Assist with bookings in Google calendar for daily use of PAC rooms and spaces.
Schedule/troubleshoot with third‑party vendors responsible for ticketing system and large format printer maintenance.
Assist in the maintenance of appearance and efficiency of the PAC facility, in conjunction with facilities personnel, department chair, technical director and VPA administrative manager.
