Responsibilities / Expectations

Safely maintains equipment and supports pipeline operations, including reading/interpreting drawings, inspecting/supervising equipment and maintaining operation/technical standards and/or governmental requirements

Analyzes data and collaborates with others to find solutions to technical or operational problems

Follows all Company policies and applies appropriate operating and maintenance procedures

Acquires knowledge of and adheres to requirements for safe and efficient operation of facilities, execution of tasks, protection of community, personnel, environment and assets

Maintains general knowledge of site/location/equipment and permitting

Completes assigned reports, logs and maintains accurate records of process operations and performance of preventative maintenance on equipment

Other duties as assigned

Education / Years of Experience – Operations Technician II

Required: High School Diploma/GED and minimum two (2) years’ related experience, and minimum one (1) year experience as a technician in the oil and gas industry

Preferred: Associate's or two‑year technical degree

Education / Years of Experience – Operations Technician I

Required: High School Diploma/GED

Preferred: Associate's or two‑year technical degree; minimum six (6) months mechanical, technical, or controls systems experience in the oil and gas industry or operations technician summer internship with Associate’s Degree

Physical and Environment Work Requirements

Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces

Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed

Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time

Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)

Use hand tools

Shift / Work Hours / Travel Requirements

Available to work after hours, on‑call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as the need arises

May be required to work overtime, 10‑12 hour shifts and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays

Must be located within a 30‑minute drive of the station

Other Requirements

Must possess valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record

Demonstrates aptitude and ability to embrace technology and applications to drive operational efficiency and streamline processes

Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills, Process Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers

Works under periodic supervision, but only for highly complex and non‑routine tasks. Performs varied tasks and projects of moderate to occasionally high complexity requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Routine technical and operations assignments completed independently.

Works under periodic supervision, but only for highly complex and non‑routine tasks. Makes independent decisions on routine tasks. Works within established procedures with moderate supervision, occasionally coordinates the activities of others. Makes straightforward decisions while working independently based on clearly defined procedures communicated by the supervisor or team lead. Readily identifies and promptly acts upon requirements for safe and efficient operation of facilities, protection of community, personnel, environment and assets. Demonstrates solid leadership, teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills.
