We are partnering with a well-established, rapidly growing commercial landscaping business in the Houston market to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager.
With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality landscape maintenance, enhancement and outdoor solutions to commercial clients, this organisation has built long-standing relationships through exceptional service, operational excellence and a commitment to doing things the right way. Backed by an ambitious leadership team, they are continuing to invest heavily in growth and are looking for a driven sales professional to help expand their presence across the Greater Houston area.
The Opportunity
This is a true hunter role focused on winning new business and developing long-term commercial relationships. You'll be responsible for identifying opportunities, opening doors and securing new maintenance and enhancement contracts with a variety of commercial customers.
The ideal candidate will already understand the landscaping industry, know how to navigate the local market and have a track record of generating revenue through proactive business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new commercial landscaping opportunities throughout the Houston market.
- Build relationships with property managers, facility managers, HOAs, developers and other key decision-makers.
- Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospects through networking, referrals and direct outreach.
- Conduct client meetings, site visits and needs assessments.
- Prepare and present proposals in partnership with operations and estimating teams.
- Negotiate contracts and close new business opportunities.
- Meet and exceed revenue and gross margin targets.
- Maintain accurate pipeline activity and forecasting through the CRM system.
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure a seamless handover of newly won accounts.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity and upcoming opportunities.
What We're Looking For
- Previous business development or outside sales experience within the commercial landscaping industry is essential.
- Proven ability to generate new business and consistently achieve sales targets.
- Existing relationships within the Houston commercial market would be highly advantageous.
- Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a sales territory effectively.
- Professional, resilient and highly driven by results.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout the Houston area.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $70,000 – $90,000
