Research Engineer, Prime Video – Content Understanding
Prime Video is seeking a Research Engineer to support scientific research efforts in the Content Reasoning, Enrichment and Localization team. The role supports Applied Scientists by building experiment frameworks, infrastructure, and deployment packages and may directly facilitate benchmarking, model training, deployment, and deep‑learning technical problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

Own end‑to‑end model training and deployment, managing the GPU cluster, monitoring job queues, and containerizing models for production.

Cluster Management – Architect and operate SLURM cluster infrastructure for distributed training and evaluation workloads, maintain job status, monitor queues, optimize infrastructure, and develop self‑service tooling, automation, and APIs.

Model Deployment – Gather requirements, containerize ML models, shepherd models through beta deployments, develop data collection, aggregation, and monitoring pipelines, and build observability dashboards for ML infrastructure.

Qualifications

Experience automating, deploying, and supporting large‑scale infrastructure.

Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust).

Experience with Linux/Unix.

3+ years of cloud computing technology experience.

Experience developing and deploying LLMs in production on GPUs, Neuron, TPU, or other AI acceleration hardware, or leading architecture and design of such systems.

Experience with distributed systems at scale.

Proficiency with large‑scale machine learning systems, profiling, debugging, and understanding system performance and scalability.

Master's degree (preferred). Bachelor’s degree accepted with equivalent experience.

Publications or contributions to open‑source HPC projects.

Benefits and Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $129,200.00 – $174,800.00 USD annually.
