About Westminster at Lake Ridge
Westminster at Lake Ridge is a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community serving older adults in three levels of service: Independent Living, Assisted Living, and a Health Center. Our team of roughly 270 employees serves a population of over 400 residents on 62 acres that backs up to the Occoquan reservoir. Job Requirements
High School diploma or associate degree in a Human Service field required. One (1) to three (3) years of human service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should have strong verbal and written communication ability, interpersonal and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and various office machines is required.

Job Summary
This position is primarily responsible for assisting the Independent Living Administrator with planning and executing recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for residents.

Key Responsibilities
Activity Responsibilities

Develop, plan, and promote programs for residents including arts, outings, speakers, shows, etc.

Schedule and assist in setting up and/or clean‑up areas for programs.

Lead activities for residents as requested by the Independent Living Administrator.

Attend committee meetings.

Administrative Responsibilities

Track program results including resident participation, ideas, and feedback.

Keep records of all programs.

Aid in yearly budget planning.

Create program ideas and obtain approval from the Independent Living Administrator.

Schedule outside trips and coordinate travel accommodations with the Transportation Coordinator.

Submit monthly special event forms to Dining Services.

Submit monthly room set‑up sheets to the Housekeeping Department.

Supervisory Responsibility

Act as a leader and manager of assigned positions; ensure productivity, efficiency, and accuracy.

Ensure initial and ongoing training is provided to volunteers; ensure cross‑training as appropriate.

Identify unacceptable performance and behavior exhibited by volunteers and take appropriate action; utilize progressive discipline policy and maintain documentation.

Ensure volunteers follow established policies and procedures.

Screen and interview volunteers as needed.

Always maintain resident confidentiality according to policies and procedures; use discretion when discussing confidential matters.

Demonstrate courteous and cooperative behavior with residents, families, co‑workers, supervisors, and other department staff.

Maintain positive working relationships with management and coworkers; willingly follow directions and requests.

Show professional standards through appearance and demeanor consistent with personnel standards.

Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of work assignments and meet quality and timeliness objectives.

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures; seek clarification when needed.
