Overview

Responsibilities
- Envision, plan, refactor and implement core UI features such as HUD widgets, HUD markers, minimap, mission flow, activity feed, conversation and interaction menus.
- Write robust, maintainable code with a focus on modularity and future scalability.
- Optimize performance and fix bugs in both new and legacy systems.
- Integrate backend services that support the player experience.
- Collaborate with designers, artists, backend developers, and cross‑disciplinary teams on cutting‑edge features for Epic’s games and potentially across the Fortnite ecosystem.
- Align on service and client goals with backend developers and ensure UI meets aesthetic and functional requirements.
Qualifications
- Exceptional C++ programming skills.
- Experience developing UI features for games across multiple platforms.
- Significant experience with online multiplayer or other real‑time interactive technology applications that include a strong online component.
- Interest in social, frontend, and gameplay‑adjacent development.
- Ability to empathize with users and balance trade‑offs while keeping user experience at the forefront.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and the ability to deliver and incorporate constructive feedback.
- Proficiency with Unreal Engine (preferred).
