Marketing & Communications Project Coordinator

MacLean-Fogg · Mundelein, IL, USA ·

Pay:
60.000 - 80.000
Job type:
Full Time

We Need Someone Who Can Turn “We Should Probably Do Something With This” Into an Actual Plan.
At MacLean‑Fogg, we have no shortage of ideas.

Some are strategic. Some are creative. Some arrive five minutes before someone asks, “Can we get this communicated today?” Hypothetically, of course.

We’re looking for a Marketing & Communications Project Coordinator to join our team and help bring structure, momentum, and follow‑through to a wide range of marketing and communication initiatives.

You’ll work closely with Nick Stauffer, Organizational Development Manager, and Camilla Groth, Creative Marketing Manager, supporting work that spans internal communications, external marketing, employer branding, creative projects, events, and cross‑functional initiatives.

We care deeply about the work. We also believe the work is better when the team can laugh, challenge each other, share ideas, and occasionally acknowledge that a project timeline may have been “aspirational.”

The Role
This role sits at the intersection of marketing, communications, project management, and employee experience.

You’ll help keep projects organized, timelines visible, stakeholders aligned, and deliverables moving forward. You won’t be expected to be a designer, but you’ll work closely with creative resources, agencies, vendors, and internal partners to help great work get completed without unnecessary confusion, delay, or 17 follow‑up emails.

This role supports both:

External marketing , including campaigns, collateral, trade shows, website updates, social media, and employer branding

Internal communications , including leadership messages, employee announcements, newsletters, organizational updates, and engagement‑related communications

You’ll also help us continue modernizing the way we work by using AI‑enabled tools, collaboration platforms, and improved workflows to improve productivity and communication quality.

What You’ll Do

Coordinate marketing and communications projects from intake through completion

Help manage timelines, deliverables, approvals, and follow‑up

Keep stakeholders informed and aligned across projects

Support trade shows, events, social media, website updates, sales collateral, and employer branding efforts

Assist with internal communications, employee announcements, newsletters, and leadership communicationsdli>

Use tools like Jira, SharePoint, Teams, Loop, and AI‑enabled platforms to organize work and improve execution

What Makes Someone Great in This Role
You don’t need to know everything on day one. You do need to be the kind of person who figures things out, asks good questions, follows through, and brings energy to the work.

You’ll likely do well here if you:

Like organizing moving pieces into something that resembles a plan

Enjoy working with creative people, business leaders, HR, vendors, and cross‑functional teams

Communicate clearly and aren’t afraid to follow up

Can be diplomatic without being passive

Notice when something is about to fall through the cracks

Bring ideas, not just status updates

Stay flexible when priorities shift

Enjoy improving how work gets done

Are curious about AI and technology, and already use them to work smarter

You may not love this role if you prefer:

A single predictable task list every day

Waiting for someone else to define every next stepl>

Avoiding stakeholder conversations

Working in a corner with minimal interaction

Pretending reply‑all email chains are an effective project management system

2+ years of experience in project coordination, marketing support, communications, or a related role

Why Join MacLean‑Fogg?
MacLean‑Fogg has a 100‑year history in manufacturing, but we’re not interested in operating like everything is still done by fax machine and sheer willpower.

We’re modernizing how we communicate, collaborate, develop people, support the business, and tell our story.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

Work on visible projects across the organization

Partner closely with a small, collaborative team

Support both creative marketing and employee communication work

Help improve processes instead of just surviving them

Learn the business from multiple angles

Build a foundation for growth in marketing, communications, project management, or marketing operations

We’re looking for someone who wants to be part of the team, not just support the team from the sidelines.

Our values are Integrity, People, Customer Excellence, and Stewardship. We take those seriously. We take quality seriously. We take deadlines seriously.

However, we do not take ourselves seriously 100% of the time. That would be exhausting.

If you’re organized, proactive, collaborative, curious, and willing to help turn “someone should really organize this” into “already handled,” we’d like to meet you.
