Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales/ Event Designer to join our team. The role focuses on driving new business, cultivating client relationships, and representing the brand with professionalism and sophistication. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the luxury market, strong networking skills, and a passion for fine dining and event experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed sales goals consistently.
  • Prospect, network, and represent MEC at community events.
  • Maintain an active, repeatable client list through exceptional service.
  • Negotiate pricing, proposals, and contracts with clients.
  • Manage sales processes and maintain reports.
  • Develop market and competitor knowledge to suggest improved service delivery.
  • Stay current on industry trends related to food and beverage innovation.
  • Create compelling sales proposals.
  • Ensure special requests, dietary restrictions, and allergies are fulfilled.
  • Ensure compliance with booking policies and accounting/billing standards.
  • Implement catering sales policies, food/minimums, service charge, and fees.
  • Maintain accurate contract binders.
  • Coordinate and approve menu tasting events and communicate details to operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of sales experience, preferably in an off‑premise catering setting.

Travel

Significant travel locally; more than 50% traveling to off‑site meetings.

Working Conditions

The job operates in a professional office environment and often at off‑site locations outdoors. This includes exposure to varying weather conditions and uneven surfaces.

Salary Range

Commensurate with experience and skill set. Base salary plus commission, equivalent to the salary listed on this posting. Must be prepared for long hours and weekend work.
