Position Overview
As the CRM & Retention Marketing Manager, you will own the customer lifecycle from lead acquisition through repeat purchase. You will be responsible for developing and executing email and SMS marketing strategies, building customer journeys, creating segmentation strategies, and identifying opportunities to increase revenue from our existing customer base. This role goes far beyond sending promotional emails; it requires a deep understanding of customer behavior, data, automation, retention marketing, and how to create meaningful customer experiences that drive long‑term growth.

Responsibilities

Own and manage all email and SMS marketing efforts

Plan, build, schedule, and execute promotional campaigns across email and SMS

Develop and optimize automated customer journeys and retention flows

Build customer segmentation strategies based on behavior, purchase history, and engagement

Create campaigns to support sales goals, inventory priorities, new arrivals, closeouts, and seasonal promotions

Coordinate with leadership, operations, purchasing, and marketing teams to ensure campaigns align with inventory availability and business objectives

Manage the promotional calendar and recommend sales opportunities throughout the year

Identify opportunities to increase conversion rates, average order value, repeat purchases, and customer lifetime value

Develop and manage post‑purchase, win‑back, review request, referral, and loyalty campaigns

Analyze campaign performance and provide recommendations for continuous improvement

Monitor and report on key performance metrics including revenue, conversion rates, retention rates, and customer engagement

Conduct A/B testing on messaging, offers, creative, subject lines, and customer journeys

Assist with coordinating website promotions, product launches, and major sales events

Work closely with the leadership team to develop and execute growth initiatives that drive revenue and improve the customer experience

Help establish and improve processes related to customer communication, retention, and lifecycle marketing

Qualifications

Experience managing email and SMS marketing programs

Strong understanding of CRM, customer lifecycle marketing, and retention strategies

Experience with Klaviyo or similar email marketing platforms

Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret customer and campaign data

Strong copywriting and communication skills

Experience building and optimizing automated marketing flows

Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Ability to work independently and take ownership of key business initiatives

Experience in Shopify

Experience in the cycling, outdoor, sporting goods, or e‑commerce industries

Familiarity with loyalty, referral, and retention programs
