This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division.

Who We Are
HII – Mission Technologies is seeking an Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Counter-UAS (CUAS) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the management and testing of Department of War UAS and CUAS capabilities in Albuquerque, NM. The Systems Manager will work with our customer to refine integration concepts to combat present-day international UAS threats. Qualified applicants will have a background in UAS/CUAS support to military operations, knowledge of base defense strategies, and the ability to support the assessment of novel technologies for these applications.

What You Will Do

Coordinate directly with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and multiple levels of DoW organizations to plan and execute comprehensive training and assessment schedules

Travel internationally to provide assessment and observation support

Research and stay up-to-date on international tactics, techniques, and procedures for UAS/CUAS operations

Assist in the integration of UAS/CUAS into the larger ISR data collection plan for both peacetime and potentially forward‑deployed locations

Apply analysis and communications expertise to analyze, evaluate issues, and develop recommendations to resolve substantive problems or issues of effectiveness and suitability

Support technical publications in developing test planning, test procedures, and test reports for customer releases

Support technical and functional leadership through the identification of risk

What We Are Looking For

9 years relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree in a related field; 7 years relevant experience with a master’s degree; 4 years relevant experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate; or high school diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience

Experience with UAS/CUAS and their operational capability in a large, layered defense environment with emphasis on military operations

Experience with CUAS critical system components such as kinetic and non‑kinetic effects, radar, EO/IR, targeting cameras/lasers, etc.

Experience in UAS related governing guidance, program maintenance requirements, basic operational capability, and regular reporting requirements

Must possess and maintain an active SECRET clearance and be able to obtain a TS clearance with SCI eligibility

Willing to travel for extended periods of time; deployment times typically last between two and three weeks

Preferred: Bonus Points For

Experience working in a Launch and Recovery Element as a military pilot or maintainer with UAS/CUAS systems

TS/SCI Clearance

CompTIA SEC+ certifications or baseline IT knowledge to integrate ISR feeds into the Operations Center

10 years of recent specialized experience in base defense military communications, UAS and CUAS military operations, and integrating systems into a larger base defense capability

Demonstrated communication skills, both written and oral, concerning technical material and explaining these aspects to non‑technical customers

Flexibility with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem‑solving capabilities

Physical Requirements

Must be able to bend, reach, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be able and willing to work outside in adverse weather conditions and on varying adverse terrain
