Role Overview

As the Vice President, Relationship Manager – Innovation Banking, you will focus on building deep relationships with founders and CEOs of Life Sciences & Healthcare companies in San Francisco. You will use HSBC’s Innovation Banking platform to support high‑growth companies across life sciences, healthtech, biopharma, medical devices, and diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities

Build deep, long‑term relationships with founders and finance leaders of growing Life Sciences & Healthcare companies.
Deliver the breadth and depth of the HSBC Innovation Banking Platform.
Develop relationships with venture capitalists, advisors and finance partners that support companies within Technology and Innovation sectors.
Generate new business through banking products and identify opportunities for lending and credit support.
Build the HSBC Innovation Banking brand through industry events, conferences and thought‑leadership opportunities.
Create and maintain effective internal networks across HSBC Innovation Banking to enable client success.
Provide insight into HSBC Innovation Banking platform on key industry and company trends.
Essential Skills & Qualifications

Extensive technology ecosystem experience.
Entrepreneurial, self‑motivated and success‑driven.
Strong relationship building and origination skills to build a high‑quality client portfolio.
Preference for candidates with experience in venture capital and start‑up ecosystem.
Expert Relationship Management skills with Life Sciences & Healthcare and Innovation sectors.
Strong finance, analysis and commercial lending experience, including debt structuring and execution.
Excellent knowledge of banking products, including Treasury, Clearing and Trade Finance solutions.
Passionate about technology start‑ups and the venture ecosystem.
