Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

8 years of experience in software development.

5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.

5 years of experience with iOS application development.

3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.

3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.

3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross‑functional, or cross‑business projects.

Role Overview
In this role, you will lead an engineering team in architecture to the next generation of video editing on YouTube Shorts. Centered on an AI‑first editing flow, you will solve the unique tests of building for millions of creators, moving the platform from traditional manual tools to an agentic orchestrator. You will scale the architecture to build core editing tools that deliver an exceptional, complete editing experience. You will also have an opportunity to influence the roadmap of every partner team that works in Creation.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership on Generative AI (GenAI) projects.

Influence and coach iOS engineers across multiple teams focused on video editing and recording.

Facilitate alignment and clarity across partner teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.

Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

Compensation and Benefits
US: $207,000 – $301,000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits.
