Job Description

Concord Carlisle High School is searching for an enthusiastic and experienced Theater Director to lead our vibrant performing arts program. This role involves directing a fall play and a spring musical, requiring a significant after-school time commitment for rehearsals. We're looking for someone passionate about building a strong, inclusive high school theater community.

Responsibilities

Direct the fall play and spring musical from auditions through strike.

Develop and execute an artistic vision for each production, ensuring high-quality theatrical experiences that meet the highest standards.

Collaborate effectively with and manage a team of adults, including choreographers, technical directors, and musical directors, as well as parent volunteers.

Mentor and guide student actors, technicians, and crew, fostering their growth and passion for theater.

Actively build a strong sense of community within the performing arts department, promoting teamwork and shared artistic goals.

Manage production budgets and timelines efficiently.

Qualifications

Proven experience directing theatrical productions, preferably in an educational setting.

Strong understanding of acting, stagecraft, and musical theater.

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to inspire students and manage adult collaborators effectively.

Availability for extensive after-school hours and some weekends during peak rehearsal periods.

This position will be paid a stipend as outlined in the CCTA contract.
