Sports Monitor – YMCA of Metro Atlanta

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a Sports Monitor to oversee sports programs and ensure the safety and well‑being of all participants. The role includes opening and closing sites, supervising activities, maintaining facilities, and responding to emergencies.
Responsibilities

Ensure the health, safety, and well‑being of children in the program by providing close supervision of all activities.
Monitor sports practices, clinics, games, or open play.
Set up, monitor, maintain, and secure all supplies, equipment, and buildings.
Ensure cleanliness and safety of facilities.
Report any problems to supervisor.
Answer inquiries from participants, parents, volunteers, or other stakeholders and provide timely information.
Open and close the facilities on evenings, weekends, or as needed.
Implement YMCA safety protocols related to branch and off‑site operations.
Respond to safety and emergency situations and maintain/reports accurate incident/accident forms.
Requirements

Minimum age 16 years old.
Ability to independently get to the branch, gym, or fields for scheduled shifts.
High degree of interpersonal communication, conflict management, and customer service skills.
Maintain branch and association certifications in CPR/AED, state–approved First Aid, new staff orientation, branch orientation, and emergency procedures.
Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.
Ability to pass a pre‑employment background check including criminal record check, drug screening, motor vehicle record (MVR), and reference check per company policy.
Legal eligibility to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Ergonomic Requirements

Stand, walk, run, sit, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.
Lift up to 60 pounds (e.g., sports equipment, goals, nets, uniforms).
Perform tasks outdoors for extended periods of time.
