Position Summary
The candidate will use their qualifications, experience, expertise, judgment and discretion to obtain, maintain, service, market and grow the insurance business for The Liberty Company. Responsibilities include assisting clients with obtaining/renewing coverage, managing all aspects of client relationships, administering marketing, customer service, receivables, and coordinating carrier appointments.
Primary Responsibilities
Primarily responsible for middle market commercial lines accounts.
Prepare and present proposals for Company accounts, including on‑site meetings as appropriate.
Oversee quality control and compliance duties to ensure regulatory and company policy adherence.
Prepare change requests for Company and Company accounts.
Review audits, policies and endorsements for accuracy.
Initiate new account files in the agency management system.
Invoice Company accounts (agency bill transactions).
Assist with collections for Company and carriers.
Assist with carrier audits and audit disputes.
Prepare and implement marketing strategies, particularly for upcoming expirations within 120 days.
Manage account cancellations, communicate with carriers and clients, and mediate disputes.
Manage carrier memos and process updates.
Process account requests such as ID cards, evidence of property, certificates of insurance, binders, policies and related documents.
Evaluate account exposure and risk to determine appropriate markets for quotes.
Use expertise to select carriers for Company accounts.
Obtain quotes, negotiate coverage terms, and interpret coverage for clients.
Recommend additional coverage based on client needs.
Delegate assignments to administrative assistants as appropriate.
Keep team members fully informed of important activities on Company accounts.
Manage receivables, renewals, and expirations.
Act as liaison with carriers and clients regarding complaints, claims, and grievances.
Manage Exclusive Office Program Policies—ensuring coverage is bound, cancelled, or altered in real time.
Manage ongoing management team inquiries and provide corrective plans.
Performance Expectations
Provide status updates on current and prior account activity to management by the next business day.
Alert team members and executives of incidents that require intervention.
Respond promptly to phone calls and e‑mails.
Respond to client requests such as ID cards, certificates, and binders.
Maintain detailed documentation in AMS360 or Epic.
Prioritize workload and seek assistance to reduce backlog.
Participate in special projects and policy formulation with senior management.
Stay current on rates, forms, and coverage changes through continuing education.
Participate in seminars and classes to further develop qualifications.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years’ experience handling mid‑to‑large commercial lines accounts.
High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
Active DOI P&C license required.
Knowledge of AMS360, Epic, or similar agency management system.
Knowledge of commercial insurance products.
